The course:
Two squares, measuring 10 x 6 meters, separated by 18 meters. This 18-meter space has sometimes been called "the 18 meter of ice cold void".The surface is normally grass but games on beach sand and snow exist aswell. However, we wouldn't recommend playing on tarmac.

Nota bene! We use the metric scale. The usage of any other mumbo-jumbo home made scale, for example yards and inches, will render you high finds as a fruit dealer in Bradford recently experienced.

Participants:
Two teams containing two players equipped with one plastic waste paper basket each (office model).

The idea of the game:
By executing powerful or tricky throw one should make a loafer, of the brand Bonving, land in the opposite square, without anyone in the opposing team catching it in their baskets. In this aspect the games closest relative is badminton.

The flow of the game: Player A1 starts throwing. If any player in Team B catches the Bonving in their basket, team B will get a point, providing that both Team B players have their feet inside the square in connection with the catch and until they have full control of their balance.

• If the Bonving touches any body parts of the receiving players before it is caught in the basket the point will go to the throwing team. In this case, Team A. Accordingly, for the catching team to get the point, the Bonving must go directly in the basket. There is however one exception. If the Bonving bounces out of the catcher's basket, the catcher or his fellow team player may catch the rebounce and get the points. This is called "double catch".

• If the Bonving lands outside the square without touching the receivers nor there baskets; the receiving team gets the point.

• If the Bonving lands in the receiving team's square without having bounced outside the square first; the throwing team gets the point.

• If the throwing player steps out of his square in connection with the throw; the catching team gets the point.

Next man to throw after A1 is B1 followed by A2, B2, A1 and so on.

Counting:
The team that first reaches 17 points with a two-point margin will win the set. A match can be played as one set (Qualification games and non-glamour-tournament finals) or best of three sets.

Remember: Bonving is fun!

Tactics: Aim your throw at the player showing the worst form for the day, or just a generally low form curve. Take a look in the Bonving marathon table before the game. Repeated throws towards the same player can have a tearing effect on the opposing team's teamspirit if the receiving player in question keeps missing his catches.
Thus Bonving can be a psychologically trying game. Another cunning scheme is to throw the Bonving hard and low just between the opposing players causing them to hesitate before they decide who should catch it. If such a throw is successful it works demoralizing on the opposing team, since you hereby have shown that their teamwork is crap.

Remember: This is not a complete rulebook. It should be seen as a brief introduction to the sport.

BONSWING!
