Below are the basic rules of Bonving, all for you folks!

THE PLAYING FIELD:
Two squares 10 meters width times 6 meters length, separated by 18 meters. Grass is the ideal ground for the sport, but sand has also been used.

PARTICIPANTS:
Two teams including two players each. All four players are equipped by standard sized plastic garbage cans (the classic office model).

GAME'S PURPOSE:

To throw a classic men's shoe size 9 or 10 into the opponent team's field. Your rival team will then try to catch your throw in their garbage cans. If you as server, succeed to land the shoe on their square, you will award 1 point. If the opponent team catches your shoe, they will get the point.

PLAY OF THE GAME:
Player A1 starts serving. If any player in the B team catches the throw, they will get a point. To get a catcher´s point the shoe has to stay in your can, bounces don´t count as catches. The catcher or his/her partner are allowed to re-catch a bounce from a can. This is called a double catch. The shoe must not touch any bodyparts or the playfield before it is caught in the can, if so, the serving team gets the point. The catcher has to keep both feet within the field when catching a throw, if not; the serving team will get the point.

If your shoe-serve lands outside the opponent field, they get the point.
If your shoe-serve lands inside the opponent field, you get the point.
If you step outside your own field when serving, they get the point.

The players in each team serve every other throw. A1, B1, A2, B2 and then back to A1...
Every set runs to 17 points, best of 3 sets in all games. You got to win by two points to win the set/match.

A suggestion at last is not to grip the garbage can by holding your thumbs at the top. A thrown men's shoe can cause great damage when hit fragile bodyparts. Therefor, hold your can in your arms as if you were about to hug it.
